MDN Public Compliance Statement with ICTR and ComReg Requirements

The Men’s Development Network is committed to complying with the Statement for Guiding Principles for Fundraising and has formally discussed and adopted the Statement at a meeting of the governing body.

The Men’s Development Network confirms its commitment to the principles set out in the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising by a statement to that effect in its annual report.

The Men’s Development Network has a Donor Charter which is consistent with the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising.

The Men’s Development Network regularly monitors compliance with the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising and compliance reports are received regularly by the governing body.

The Men’s Development Network considers the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising when planning all fundraising activity.

The Men’s Development Network has a policy on working with third party fundraisers (if applicable).

The Men’s Development Network provides honest, open and transparent disclosure when fundraising from the public.

The Men’s Development Network has appointed a member of the governing body and/or a senior member of staff to be responsible for compliance with the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising.

The Men’s Development Network ensures that fundraising staff are provided with information and training on the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising and its implementation.

The Men’s Development Network has a feedback and complaints procedure consistent with the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising. Feedback is recorded for review by relevant staff including the CEO and governing body. Feedback is responded to promptly and appropriately.

The Men’s Development Network prepares financial reports consistent with the requirements of the Charities Act 2009 which include a statement concerning the extent to which control of the organisation is independent of its funding sources.

The Men’s Development Network ensures that all donations are tracked and recorded and complies with data protection requirements.

The Men’s Development Network is accessible to the public through a number of readily available contact options.

The Men’s Development Network’s (MDN’s) Commitment to Standards in Fundraising Practice:

The Men’s Development Network is fully committed to achieving the standards contained within the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising.

The Statement exists to:

  • Improve fundraising practice
  • Promote high levels of accountability and transparency by organisations fundraising from the public
  • Provide clarity and assurances to donors and prospective donors about the organisations they support.

We, The Men’s Development Network, have considered the Statement and believe we meet the standards it sets out. Where we have not complied with the Statement we have provided an explanation here (link)

MDN fully subscribes to the Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising (ICTR)

The Men’s Development Network’s Board of Directors agreed to subscribe to the Guiding Principles for Fundraising (ICTR) at its Board meeting on 3rd April 2014 and will renew its commitment annually at the first Board Meeting each year (Resolution Regarding the Statement of Guiding Principles of Fundraising).
MDN works in compliance with the Governance Code (The Governance Code).  The Board monitors The Men’s Development Network’s compliance with all of these standards, governance requirements and its commitments.

The Statement of Guiding Principles for Fundraising sets out the Commitment to Donors in Section 4, pp15-17. This includes the commitment that a charity must inform donors and prospective donors that it complies with the Statement. The charity may also devise a summary of that commitment in the form of a Donor Charter. The Men’s Development Network’s donor charter can be seen here.
